Applications are sought for an EPSRC industrial CASE PhD studentship sponsored by BP to be held in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge. The studentship is part of the Foreseer project (https://www.foreseer.group.cam.ac.uk) and will study the fluid mechanics of ‘fraccing’ with a view to examining and optimizing the water usage and provide linkages with the Foreseer project. The research will involve laboratory experiments and theoretical analysis of aspects of the fraccing process and interactions with the Foreseer team. Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
