AHRC masters studentships for 2013/14 (professional practice awards) in Creative Writing



The Professional Preparation Masters scheme provides funding to enable award holders to gain a degree directly linked to their future career. The course will focus on the development of high-level skills and competences as a preparation for professional practice. It is expected that applicants will be able to demonstrate a connection between the course applied for and their long-term career aims.

Applications are invited for the following subject areas:

Creative writing

Deadline: 01 May 2013, 12:00pm

Applicants can expect to hear if they have been successful within eight weeks of the stated application deadline.

Eligibility Applicants are expected to hold a good honours degree, or equivalent, in creative writing, English literature, literature and language, drama or theatre studies or a similar subject; and/or have a demonstrable interest in creative writing.  Applicants must submit a 2,000-word sample of creative writing with their application.

UK applicants and EU applicants who have been resident in the UK for at least three years immediately preceding the start of their course are eligible for the full scholarship covering stipend and tuition fees. EU applicants who have not been resident in the UK for three years immediately preceding the start of their course are eligible for a fees-only award. 

Awards are available for both full-time and part-time students.
