About the Department
The Department of Economics has an excellent reputation for a high standard of teaching that provides graduates with core economic theory and practical transferable skills. We are currently ranked 12th in the UK for economics and our staff achieved a national ranking of 5th or higher in their specialist areas in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE). We pride ourselves on being a lively and friendly department.

The Award
The 50th Anniversary Excellence Studentship is specifically for overseas students and the funding lasts for three years. Each year provides:
- Overseas tuition fee
- Stipend of £13,726 (for living expenses) (2014/15 rate to be confirmed)
- Training Support Grant of £1,000 per year (for travel, fieldwork etc.)Â

Applicants should apply online to study for a full time MPhil/PhD in Economics.
