2017 MSc Studentship: Resident in Veterinary Cardiology



The position

This is a Residency position in a training programme approved by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) and lasting 3 years, subject to satisfactory annual review of progress. You will be part of the cardiology team responsible for primary management of cardiology cases and providing support to the other specialties within the small animal and equine hospitals. You will receive training in all aspects of Veterinary Cardiology and will be expected to study for the ACVIM diploma in Cardiology. Residents will be involved in clinical work and clinical research and will be expected to submit for publication manuscripts based on their research work during the programme. The MSc in Veterinary Science will develop your clinical research skills and enhance universally important skills such as scientific writing, critical reading and statistical analysis of data.

Candidate requirements

The Resident will be expected to undertake informal group teaching of undergraduate students undertaking rotations and a small amount of formal teaching. The position carries responsibilities for out of hours duties on a 1:3 basis.

You must be a member (or eligible to become a member) of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons with 1 year in a recognized internship. You must satisfy the English Language requirements for the Masters in Veterinary Science program (http://www.bristol.ac.uk/study/language-requirements/profile-a/).
