The School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics of the university of Wollongong Australia is pleased to announce two Career-Readiness PhD scholarships available to international students commencing in 2015. These scholarships include teaching opportunities as well as a research stipend.
Each scholarship includes an International Postgraduate Tuition Award, covering tuition fees for up to 3.5 years, valued at approximately $27,200 per annum ($13,600 per session). Each scholarship also includes a base stipend of $3,500 per annum for three years.
The scholarships are open to international students with who have scored a 7 in the speaking component of IELTS, and successful applicants will be required to pass a School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics internal teaching audition. After passing this audition, recipients are guaranteed tutoring and teaching opportunities totaling a further $3,500 per annum for the remainder of their candidature. Teaching allocations will be designed to ensure that applicants develop a substantial instruction portfolio over the course of their degree.
To apply for the SMAS Career-Readiness scholarships, interested students should apply for a UOW UPA scholarship. All UPA candidates meeting the requirements for a SMAS Career-Readiness scholarship will be considered for the awards, and the scholarships will be allocated to the two highest-ranked eligible candidates who are not allocated UPAs.
