UBC Canada Rhodes Scholarship Awards
Rhodes Scholarship committees around the world target the best and brightest young women and men of outstanding academic prowess and leadership as well as scholars with propensity and commitment to service.
The Rhodes Scholarships is an annual scholarship established in 1902, were designed to bring outstanding students from across the world to study at Oxford University in the interests of promoting international understanding and public service.
A Rhodes Scholarship covers:
- All University and College fees;
- The University application fee;
- A personal stipend which is fixed by the Trustees (£14,276 per annum 2016-17);
- One economy class airfare to Oxford at the start of the scholarship and one economy flight back to the student’s home country at the conclusion of the scholarship.
The Rhodes Scholarship is tenable at the Oxford university. Students must select courses offered at the university before applying. According to oxford University
Rhodes Scholars come from many academic backgrounds and pursue a wide variety of courses at Oxford. The Scholarship is more accurately viewed as an investment in a person of remarkable promise than support for a particular course of study. Applicants should study the University of Oxford’s course offerings to determine the degree for which they would apply. There are very few restrictions on the full-time Oxford post-graduate degrees courses supported by Rhodes Scholarships. Rhodes Scholars may only undertake the Master of Business Administration or the Master of Financial Economics in the second year of the Scholarship.
Each country eligible for Rhodes Scholarship has its own set of requirements. Students are encouraged to pay attention to those requirements.
Authorization for apply for UBC Canada Rhodes Scholarship Awards
Every student intending to apply for the Rhodes scholarship at University of British Columbia(UBC) Canada must submit an official application on the Rhodes website. The student must obtain an authorization code from UBC. The code will be provided once your pre-application is approved by the UBC Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee.
